RIWASH
The Project RIWASH (Rural Integrated Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) involved the preparation of over 50 Grama Niladhari (commonly referred to as G.N.D) level master plans for Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and Waste Management for all the villages in the 9 Pradeshiya Sabha divisions in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka. This evaluation and reporting was conducted by COSI on behalf of World Vision.
The data gathering and reporting phase was focused on
- Household surveys
- Water Resources Assessment in each area
- Topography Survey
- Environmental Impact Assessments
- Institutional Survey
- Disable Sensitivity
- Capacity Building
Some of these assessments were conducted with the active field participation of the Geography Department of University of Peradeniya.
This ongoing Project also involves construction supervision of World Vision water supply projects in Ampara District.
