WASPA (Wastewater Agriculture and Sanitation for Poverty Alleviation)

PAP activities conducted in these two quarters include;

• Health and capacity building workshop for the farmers of Wilgoda Amuna Farmer Organization

• Workshop with the National Cleaner Production Center, Sri Lanka on Cleaner Production methods

• Onsite demonstration for Farmers in making silicon rich charcoal as fertilizer using Paddy husks

• Awarding of grades from (A-D) for the Hotels and Restaurants in Kurunegala based on their Food Safety, Hygiene and waste disposal methods

• Site visit from undergraduates of University of Kelaniya , Faculty of Science

"Structuring an Output-Based Aid approach for Household Connections and Off-network Sanitary solutions in Sri Lanka" together with Atkins UK for National Water Supply & Drainage Board through World Bank funding

"Review of National Rural Water Supply & Sanitation policy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (world Bank mission) through SSDA Afghanistan

Individual Consultancies

On Individual basis, staff of COSI has successfully completed the following assignments;

• Mid Term Evaluation of "Community Access to safe water through Ceramic Water Filters" of American Red Cross & Sri Lakan Red Cross

• Content inputs to the final evaluation of "Rotary School Reconstruction water/sanitation project" of American Red Cross & Sri Lakan Red Cross

• "Strategic review of the hygiene component of the watsan programme, to support development of promotion materials and toolkits, and support the implementation of participatory water and sanitation projects" of American Red Cross & Sri Lakan Red Cross
